Dailymotion Integrates Facebook's "Like" Button

Paris-based video-sharing site operator, Dailymotion, contacted [itvt] Wednesday to let us know that users of its site can now share videos in their Facebook profile, using the new Facebook Social Plug-In "Like" button. With one click of the button, the company says, a video is embedded into a Facebook user's Wall, and the button will also allow users to associate a personal comment with the shared video.

Rovi (formerly Macrovision--for more on the company's name change and the repositioning it heralds, see the interview with Rovi chief evangelist, Richard Bullwinkle, that was published on itvt.com, July 16th) announced last week that it plans to add OTT content from Showtime Networks and ZillionTV to its new TotalGuide consumer electronics EPG (formerly code-named "Liquid"), and also said that it is collaborating with 15 European content providers to bring content to the guide.

Dailymotion Launches New Interactive Advertising Formats for Connected TV, IPTV

--Says It Will Announce Several New Connected TV Partnerships at CES

Paris-based video-sharing site operator, Dailymotion, on Tuesday announced the launch of new interactive advertising formats that are designed for connected TV (OTT) and IPTV implementations of its service. The company says that the new formats--which come on the heels of its launch of an ad-supported iPhone/iPod touch application (see the article published on itvt.com, December 22nd)--expand its "ad-supported content strategy to all three screens."

Video-Sharing Site, Dailymotion, Launches iPhone/iPod touch App

--New "Navigate YouTube" iPhone/iPod touch App Launched

Paris-based video-sharing site operator, Dailymotion, on Monday announced the launch in the Apple App Store of an iPhone/iPod touch app that incorporates both content channels and capabilities for creating and uploading videos. According to the company, the app allows users to search a library of over 12 million videos and to surf 14 themed channels, including Music, Film & TV, Funny, and Sports & Extreme, as well as lists of viral videos. It also lets users share videos with their friends, Dailymotion says, and access and manage their Dailymotion accounts. In addition, it allows iPhone 3GS users to record and upload videos straight from their handset to their accounts.

VideoClix to Power Clickable Interactive Video for Dailymotion

VideoClix, a Vancouver-based provider of technologies for clickable interactive video (which it calls "hypervideo"), said last week that it has signed a deal with Dailymotion, a Paris-based company which claims that its flagship broadband video portal is the world's second-largest. According to VideoClix, its technology will provide Dailymotion users with an "active and engaging" experience while providing advertisers with a non-intrusive way to reach their target audience. "This partnership brings clickable video to the masses on a global scale," VideoClix CEO, Babak Maghfourian, said in a prepared statement. "It's a win, win, win for audiences, publishers and advertisers alike."
