Video Tagging Startup wireWAX Gains Momentum

-- Former Last.FM COO Spencer Hyman Joins Board

 

London-based clickable video startup wireWAX continues to gain traction, recruiting former Last.fm COO Spencer Hyman as an investor, board member and strategic advisor. 

wireMAX has technology that allows anyone to add motion-tracking hotspots -- or tags -- to people and objects in video. After they are clicked, the tags can link to other videos, images, maps, and advertisements.

Westfield London Publishes Interactive Video of "Greatest Fashion Show on Earth"

London shopping mall, Westfield London, has published an interactive video of its recent fashion show, "The Greatest Fashion Show on Earth," which took place March 18th. The video--which can be viewed here--uses hotspotting technology to enable viewers to click on any of the items of clothing worn by the show's models, in order to access more information about it.

Lexus Commissions Interactive Video to Promote New Hybrid Luxury Compact

--Video Lets Viewers Determine its Narrative, Insert their Likeness, Record their own Dialog Lines

Toyota's Lexus brand has tapped creative agency, Skinny, and production company, Stink Digital, to develop a high-definition and high-production-values interactive video to promote its new luxury hybrid compact car, the CT 200h.

Coincident TV Powers Interactive, Facebook-Integrated "Social Trailer" for Fox's "Glee"

--Represents First Deployment of Company's "Hypervideo" Technology

San Francisco-based start-up, Coincident TV (CTV), contacted [itvt] Monday to let us know that it has been tapped by broadcaster Fox to power a Facebook-integrated, interactive "social trailer" for the primetime musical series, "Glee." The deal represents the first commercial deployment of the company's "hypervideo" technology.

IMG Publishing Deploys KlickableTV's Interactive Video Technology

New York-based interactive video specialist, KlickableTV, announced Tuesday that it has formed a strategic partnership with IMG Publishing, a division of the sports and entertainment company, IMG. The first IMG Publishing property to deploy KlickableTV's technology as a result of the partnership is TennisWeek.com, some of whose merchandise videos now allow viewers to click within them in order to access additional information on showcased products and links to ecommerce opportunities.
