Kantar Video, a division of WPP's market and audience research arm, Kantar (formerly TNS Media), said Monday that it has expanded the executive management team that will lead the global roll-out of its Videolytics online and mobile video syndication, tracking and optimization platform.
--Company Says Suite Reveals Consumption by Device
Web video search engine provider, MeFeedia, contacted [itvt] Wednesday to let us know that it is today launching a free analytics suite for HTML5 video that reports on consumption by device. According to the company, the new analytics offering enables the tracking of video engagement across the Web, mobiles and connected TV platforms--including on the Apple iPad and the forthcoming Google TV platform. "Consumers are increasingly watching video on all screens from laptops to smartphones, desktops to TV's," MeFeedia CEO, Frank Sinton, said in a prepared statement. "With a cross-platform look at what, how and where content is being watched--in real-time--advertisers and publishers can immediately react to the changing demands of consumers and clients."
Canoe Ventures, the company tasked with implementing the US cable industry's plans for interactive and addressable advertising (note: its backers are Comcast, Time Warner Cable, Cox, Charter, Cablevision and Bright House), announced last week that it has appointed Gerard Broussard to the newly created position of VP of research and analytics. He will report to Canoe's COO, Kathy Timko, and will be charged with charting the course for the company's research, data and analytics functions tied to digital TV marketing solutions.
Broadband video publishing solutions provider, Brightcove, announced late Monday that it has formed a strategic alliance with TubeMogul, a company which provides a distribution and analytics service for broadband video. According to the companies, their partnership will see them collaborating on technology that will "increase the overall value of online video content by providing in-depth insight into viewer engagement and behavior." As part of the partnership, Brightcove has licensed TubeMogul's InPlay technology to power the analytics in its recently launched Brightcove 4 platform.

Broadband video platform provider, Ooyala (note: the company claims to have over 140 global media and enterprise customers, including Warner Bros., Electronic Arts and Sybase), on Tuesday announced the launch of real-time analytics for its platform. It says that the enhancement makes its Analytics Engine one of the fastest in the industry and that the speed improvement will allow its customers to make more informed decisions faster than ever before. "The need for advanced video analytics has become increasingly important to media companies, marketers and publishers seeking to understand and optimize their video ROI," Ooyala co-founder and president of product strategy, Bismarck Lepe, said in a prepared statement.
Multiscreen media measurement and research company, Rentrak, and Concurrent, a company best known for its VOD technology, announced a partnership agreement Tuesday, which they say will result in the industry's first full-scale approach to collecting media data across operators and enable robust, cross-platform services reporting.
