Here's what it's like to be at Comic-Con: The convention floor is packed shoulder to shoulder and chest to back. You lumber along slowly at the pace of the crowd, your eyes are dazzled by gargantuan video screens flashing quick-cut coming attractions filled with blood and monsters and screams. Brigades of beautiful girls and handsome boys pass out fliers and buttons, beckon you into booths to play video games not yet released, ask you if you'd like to have your picture taken with an actual zombie! The crowds are generally nice--if not a little over-excited--but who can blame them? If you are into comics, if you are into science fiction and video games, this is your world...this is your place to shine.

The people who shine the brightest at Comic-Con are decked out in elaborate and impressive costumes. Rushing from book signings to Smart TV events, I was stopped along the way by these magnificent people. I always asked, "Can I?' holding up my camera, and they all struck a pose and smiled broadly...well those whose faces I could see!

The following are some of the best folks I saw, and are just 10 reasons to love Comic-Con.

ONE: The family that "troops" together stays together

TWO: I literally ran into War Machine

THREE: An exceptional Batman and Cat Woman

FOUR: Yikes!! A Spartan!

FIVE: The Mad Hatter and the Red Queen

SIX: Manipede!!

SEVEN: All smiles on stage--dancing it up!

EIGHT: Evil

NINE: Super Friends--Does the Flash know he's just wearing a sweatshirt?

TEN: Stan the Man-- still going strong and getting mobbed at Comic-Con 2010
