This is an on-going, one of a kind, comprehensive, introductory online course on Interactive Television. While coursework can be approached by someone with no interactive TV experience, professionals and novices alike find it challenging and a good way to sharpen one’s knowledge of the industry and its myriad technologies. This learning-intensive, regularly-updated course about interactive TV has roughly 600 questions. All questions are either multiple choice, true/false or yes/no. For each question a link to a Web page is provided (some with images and diagrams) where the answer can be found thus propelling the test-taker to become better educated in the process.

The coursework has large separate sections including: The History of Enhanced and Interactive Television, Enhanced TV, Interactive Television, Interactive Program Guides & Electronic Program Guides, Walled Gardens, Timeshifting (Digital Video Recorders, a.k.a. DVRs), Video on Demand, Media Centers, Media Center PCs, Home (Media) Servers, Digital Media Receivers, Digital Media Adapters, Media Extenders, Integrated Digital Televisions (iDTVs), Advertising using Interactive Television, Targeted Advertising, Set–top Boxes, Web TV, IPTV (Internet Protocol Television), Internet TV, and A brief look at the future of Interactive TV.

Six lessons (called “modules”) are sent to students via email. Using one’s computer, students answer all the questions and send the lesson modules back via email to the class instructor for grading. The class instructor has written several books on Interactive Television and electronic commerce. (See Amazon's list of his books.) How long it takes a student to finish the course very much depends on how much one wants to learn and how quickly.
