Radio: Chad, Matt & Rob on Creating Interactive Video Using YouTube Annotations

Chad, Matt & Rob--Chad Villella, Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Rob Polonsky--are a group of Los Angeles-based filmmakers who have risen to prominence as a result of a series of interactive comedic shorts they have created, using YouTube's Annotations feature. Their videos--which are influenced by Bantam Books' classic series of "Choose Your Own Adventure" children's gamebooks--include "The Birthday Party: An Interactive Adventure," "The Murder: An Interactive Adventure," and "The Time Machine: An Interactive Adventure" (note: the latter garnered over 1,000,000 views on YouTube during its first week, and won the award for Best Multimedia Fiction at the 2009 Cinema Tout Ecran International Film Festival in Geneva). The trio is consistently ranked among YouTube's Top 100 Most Subscribed Comedians and their work has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, in Entertainment Weekly, on G4's "Attack of the Show," and on YouTube's own blog.

In this RECORDED EPISODE of [itvt]'s talk radio show, Radio [i]tvt, Chad, Matt & Rob describe their work and the creative and production processes behind it, discuss their backgrounds in improv and comedy, explain why they decided to specialize in interactive video, and more.
