"Wonders of the African World
PBS, also called the Public Broadcasting Service, is
an extremely well-respected network broadcaster devoted to educational and
entertainment programming in the U.S. The PBS Online Staff collaborated with
ExtendMedia, a new media production
studio located in Toronto, Ontario, to produce an expansive
project (further special audio and video files downloaded during the
broadcast to special PC's containing LG Electronics DTVcards) for the
documentary-travelogue series named above. Featuring Harvard professor,
Henry Louis Gates, Jr., the work PBS and Extend Media produced enabled further
exploration of the deeply hidden lands of ancient Africa (e.g. Nubia,
Swahili, and Timbuktu) that Gates visited.
