Shalom TV VOD Service Launches on Verizon FiOS

Jewish TV network, Shalom TV, has launched nationally on Verizon's
FiOS platform as a free VOD service. Shalom TV, which launched in
February, claims that it is now available in over 100 US cities and 20
million homes, including nearly every major Jewish market in the US
(note: other cable operators offering the service include Comcast, Time
Warner Cable and Bright House).
"We are thrilled to be launching
nationally on Verizon FiOS TV, a premiere telecommunications
television provider," network president, Mark S. Golub, said in a
prepared statement. "Verizon is making available Shalom TV's
complete programming lineup--which includes 15 hours of feature
films and documentaries, our exclusive interviews of political figures
such as Senator Joe Biden and Benjamin Netanyahu, original Jewish
learning programs, and children's programming--to all its FiOS
customers." According to Verizon, FiOS TV's VOD library offers over
11,000 titles per month, 70% of which are free. Shalom TV's
programming is available in the "People and Culture" section of the
VOD service, and is updated every Sunday.
