Orca Interactive, the Israeli IPTV middleware and applications provider
that was acquired earlier this year by France Telecom-subsidiary,
Viaccess (see [itvt] Issue 7.77 Part 1), has announced plans to expand
into the Asia Pacific market. The company says it will begin business
development activities in the region in the third quarter, which will be
supported by Viaccess's existing regional presence. In addition to its
flagship RiGHTv middleware, Orca's offering for the Asia Pacific
market will include its Compass content discovery platform. "By
extending the company's footprint in key Asia Pacific markets, Orca is
delivering on its long-term commitment to the advancement of IPTV
worldwide, now supported by Viaccess," Sefy Ariely, Orca's VP of
sales and marketing, said in a prepared statement. "This move, coupled
with our vast experience gained in IPTV roll-outs across Europe, the
US and Latin America, is testament to the maturity of our solution and
to the advantages available to operators in APAC from our
ever-expanding portfolio of services, technologies and partnerships.
The IPTV market in Asia is on the rise and we are confident that this
expansion will create exciting opportunities for further growth."
