Sci Fi Launches User-Generated Content Promotion for "Galactica"

Scifibattlestartoolkit2007sm The Sci Fi Channel has launched a user-generated content promotion around the series, "Battlestar Galactica." The broadcaster is inviting fans of the show to create their own four-minute "Galactica" shorts, and is providing them with a tool on its Web site called the Battlestar Galactica Videomaker Toolkit, which gives them access to around 30 visual effects, around 20 audio effects and cuts from the show's soundtrack. Once viewers create their shorts, they can post them to the channel's Web site. In addition, the show's executive producer, David Eick, will select his favorite viewer-submitted video, which will be broadcast in its entirety on the Sci Fi Channel during an episode of "Battlestar Galactica" at a later date.
