International ITV Emmys to be Presented this Week

Internationalinteractiveemmyslogo_2 The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences will announce the winners of its International Interactive Emmy Awards at a ceremony at MIPTV in Cannes this Wednesday, that will be hosted by "Desperate Housewives" star, Roger Bart. The International Academy will also present a "Pioneer Prize" (note: the latter is not an Emmy, but a "special initiative" from the Academy which honors an industry personality or organization) to UK satellite TV provider, BSkyB "for its innovative contributions to the field of interactive television."

The nominees for the International Interactive Emmys were announced last month:

  • Competing for the award for Best Interactive Program are "Level Up" (BBC Children's/Preloaded, UK); "ReGenesis Extended Reality Game" (Xenophile Media, Canada); "Shorts in Motion: The Art of Seduction" (marblemedia/National Film Board of Canada/Bravo! Fact, Canada); and "Zimmer Twins" (Lost the Plot Productions/Zinc Roe Design, Canada).
  • Competing for the award for Best Interactive Channel are BITE Television (BITE Television, Canada); Movies Now (Video Networks, UK); and Win Win TV (Two Way TV, UK).
  • Competing for the award for Best Interactive TV Service are BBCi (BBC, UK); BigPond Windows Media Centre Movie Downloads for Viiv (Massive Interactive/Telstra Bigpond/DWS/the Platform/Intel, Australia); Sport 1 ITV Service (Chellomedia Interactive Services, the Netherlands/UK); and Xrace (Connect-TV/Hot Cable Company, Israel).
