Vidiom Systems, a US company perhaps best known for its expertise in OCAP (note: the company--which, among other things, designed and developed an OCAP stack for OCAP Development, LLC, the joint venture between Comcast Cable and Time Warner Cable, and which is also licensed to distribute that software--was acquired earlier this year by ADB Holdings, the parent company of set-top box manufacturer, ADB, and MHP specialist, Osmosys), has appointed David Housman as VP of strategic initiatives. According to the company, Housman has 25 years of technology and business development experience in the communications industry. He spent the last 10 years at Charter Communications where, Vidiom says, he provided strategic guidance over new business opportunities, as well as executive sponsorship and oversight of the development and deployment of the MSO's high-speed data services and advanced set-top boxes, including DVR's. He also served as Charter's chief negotiator for set-top box and conditional access agreements in Washington, DC, and participated in various CableLabs board committees, including those in charge of DOCSIS and Open Cable Certification.
