US-based IPTV/broadband TV service provider, Interactive Television Networks (note: the company, generally referred to as ITVN, delivers a range of subscription-based programming services over broadband to a special, proprietary set-top box), has launched European soccer and rugby programming from Setanta Sports, a 24/7 pay-TV channel owned by the Dublin-based pay-TV channel operator of the same name. The programming will consist of around 1,000 live and short-delay sports productions, including over 90 live matches from this season's play in the Barclays English Premier League, qualifying matches for Euro 2008, coverage of the UEFA Cup, coverage of the Coca-Cola Cup, coverage of the French and Dutch national soccer leagues, exclusive programs from Manchester United Television and Chelsea Television, and coverage of rugby's Six Nations, Tri-Nations, and Super 14 competitions. Other content will be announced shortly, ITVN says. The Setanta Sports programming package is available to ITVN subscribers at $14.95 per month (note: subscribers receive a free ITVN set-top box with a 12-month commitment to Setanta Sports). "Throughout the US, the popularity of soccer, rugby and other sports available on the Setanta Sports channel is growing," ITVN CEO, Charles Prast, said in a prepared statement. "The availability of Setanta Sports on ITVN's award-winning service will increase the awareness of ITVN within a large and growing market of international sports enthusiasts."
