Interactive TV playout carousel provider, Softel-USA, says that TVWorks, the joint ITV venture between Comcast and Cox, has joined the partner program which Softel-USA launched last year for its MediaSphere products. The program, dubbed the MediaSphere Alliance, is designed to bring Softel-USA together with providers of "best-of-breed" solutions for various platforms, including OCAP: TVWorks is the tenth company to join the program. According to Softel-USA it has worked closely with TVWorks to ensure that its MediaSphere DSMCC object carousel is interoperable with the latter's ETV Binary Interchange Format (EBIF) user agent. The joint Softel-TVWorks solution was demonstrated at recent CableLabs ETV Interop events; it was also demo'd to members of the FCC at the 2006 National Show in Atlanta. "The MediaSphere Alliance Program has always been about partnering with the best-of-breed ITV companies to benefit our joint customers," Softel-USA president and CEO, Sam Pemberton, said in a prepared statement. "We value our relationship with TVWorks and the leadership position they have taken as the ETV specification continues to evolve." The other members of the MediaSphere Alliance Program include ADB, Ensequence, emuse, Digisoft, Nionex, Osmosys, Two Way TV/Mindhouse and Vidiom.
