[itvt] would like to remind our readers that the deadline for submissions for the Los Angeles-based Academy of Television Arts & Sciences' 2005-2006 Emmy award for Outstanding Achievement in Interactive Television is May 31st. (Note: the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences is one of two organizations behind the US television industry's annual Emmy Awards--the other is the New York-based National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. Both organizations have, for some time now, given out Emmy Awards for interactive television; the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences' ITV Emmys are for creative achievement while the National Academy's Emmys are technology-focused.) Any interactive TV program or service that aired or was deployed between June 1st, 2005 and May 31st, 2006 is eligible for the award. The Television Academy's Interactive Media Peer Group will consider submissions in two categories: programming and services originally created for the TV screen, and programming and services originally created for broadband, mobile and other non-traditional platforms.
