The recently formed Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group has named Simon Kenny president of its subsidiary, Warner Bros. Digital Distribution (note: the latter incorporates Warner Bros. Online and Wireless). Kenny, who will start in his new position in May, will be tasked with managing the worldwide electronic distribution of the studio's content over existing and emerging digital platforms, including pay-per-view, electronic sell-through, VOD, subscription VOD, mobile wireless and more. He will oversee the studio's worldwide digital strategy, its partnerships in digital services, and its client relationships and business activities in the digital space. Kenny, who is currently based in London as EVP of Europe for Warner Bros. International Television Distribution (WBITD), will relocate to Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group's headquarters in Burbank, Calif., and will report to the company's president, Kevin Tsujihara. He joined WBITD as SVP for Europe in 2003. Prior to that, he spent over a decade at Disney, serving in succession as director of barter sales, in charge of developing the company's advertiser-funded program distribution initiative in Eastern Europe; as VP of TV sales for Walt Disney Television International, responsible for distributing Disney and Touchstone content to TV stations and cable/satellite channels in Europe, Africa and Latin America; as SVP and managing director of Walt Disney Television International, Latin America; and as SVP and managing director of the Walt Disney Internet Group, Europe. He holds a degree in philosophy from the University of North London.
