MPEG-4 specialist, Envivio, has named Alain Fernando-Santana chief marketing officer, responsible for directing the company's worldwide integrated marketing communications strategy and business development activities. He was previously CEO of VoIP company, Netcentrex, where he led market strategy and operations in the Americas. He also founded IPlay3, a consortium designed to develop and promote triple-play solutions. His career also includes stints as a VP at Syseca, a provider of software integration services for the telecommunications, energy and transportation industries, and as a VP at Thomson Software Products. He holds a BA from the University of Iowa, a JD from American University, and an LLM/DESS from the Sorbonne. "Alain's combination of management, marketing and industry experience makes him ideal for this role," Envivio president, Julien Signès, said in a prepared statement. "As we further expand our solutions into the IPTV, mobile, enterprise and broadcast segments, his ability to lead cross divisional marketing and business development teams is a valuable asset. Alain's business acumen will also help shape our worldwide third-party and channel partnerships."
