Softel-USA MediaSphere DSM-CC Carousel Supports Motorola, S-A Headends

Interactive TV playout carousel provider, Softel-USA, says that its MediaSphere DSM-CC object carousel now supports the Motorola DAC-6000 (Digital Addressable Controller) and the Scientific-Atlanta DNCS (Digital Network Control Server). The carousel was demonstrated to be interoperable with Scientific-Atlanta and Motorola headends based on the recently opened Stream Generator Interface (SGIF) specification. The interoperability includes support for in-band and out-of-band, such as signaling of unbound applications, Softel-USA says. "I am delighted that our ITV division has officially certified MediaSphere carousels to fully support Motorola and Scientific-Atlanta headends," Softel-USA president and CEO, Sam Pemberton, said in a prepared statement. "The result is a product range which is certified for use in over 90% of cable headends."
