Rogers Cable in VOD Content Deal with Warner Bros.

Canada's Rogers Cable has signed a deal with Warner Bros. International Television Distribution that will give it the right to offer the latter's movies on its VOD service. Titles that will be available on the service as a result of the deal include Million Dollar Baby, Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous, Constantine, and Alexander. The deal will bring the number of titles offered on Rogers' VOD service--which launched in 2002 and which Rogers says is now available to 1.8 million households in Ontario--to around 2,000: content available on the service includes concerts, documentaries and TV series, as well as studio movies. Its other content providers include Universal, Sony, Maple Pictures Corp., Alliance Atlantis Motion Picture Distribution (represents Miramax, New Line and Artisan Films), CBC, CHUM Television, Corus Entertainment, and TVA.
